I'm Writing a Book!

About Perimenopause!!! (Record scratch)

Fun subject, huh? I know it’s a little awkward, but please keep reading.

As some of you know, I’ve been having a really shitty, crazy, rollercoaster ride with my hormones for the past five years or so. I’ve had countless blood tests, pelvic sonograms and conversations with doctors that have lead to only one vague diagnosis: Perimenopause. Not only are there no specific ways to treat it or ways to tell if you’re definitively going through it, there is not even one strict medical definition of it!

I’ve been so miserable and so frustrated by the lack of information out there on this subject…that I’ve decided to write a book about it. (More on that later)

Just in case you didn’t know, Perimenopause refers to the time period that begins when the ovaries begin to decline in function and continues until menopause (defined as the total cessation of menstrual flow for one calendar year) has been reached.

Perimenopause has been called the "change of life" or "transition period." It usually begins in the 40s, but may start as early as the late 30s. During this time, a woman may exhibit a number of symptoms that are largely due to abnormal hormonal fluctuations. (yes, I copied this from a Website). These symptoms include, but are not limited to:

• hot flashes

• night sweats

• weight gain

• mood changes

• vaginal dryness

• vaginal pain

• pain with sexual intercourse

I wanna hear about YOUR experiences and feelings about this subject - which of course will be kept completely anonymous. Also, please feel free to share with any 40+ women friends who may want to share their stories.

Regarding this “book” that I’m writing. It’s still in the very early stages of development and I’m scared shitless to actually move to the next step.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Happy to answer any questions.

Look forward to hearing from you soon…I know you are all super busy. SO appreciate any and all feedback.

If you’re interested in being interviewed by me, LMK asap.
